The wind was a steady 15 knots with an occasional gust to 25 so sailing was cancelled yesterday afternoon – although the sailors are disabled they would take out the small keel boats and sail hard if they were allowed to.

We had planned a sunset cruise departing at 6pm if the wind died down – this looked likely as the skies were blue with just a wee bit of cloud as shown in the image. Oh, so what if there was a good deal of cloud…

Things changed at 3 pm as we were hit by the leading edge of a cold front from the northand the winds picked up to 35 knots sustained.

Yikes – in a keel boat that’s a serious wind so the trip is cancelled. A good thing as at 4:30 the winds again increased, the skies let loose with torrential rain, hail and an intense lightning storm that shook the house and bumped off the power a few times.

Such is life – this morning the skies are again sunny and blue.

festival02There was a little festival happening in Toronto on the way home. To be honest it was the Toronto Fetish Festival, an event that see’s 7 blocks of Church Street blocked off for people, dogs, people dressed like dogs and just about anything else you can imagine.

Interesting stuff and you can see the pictures by logging into flickr.com/ or viewing my facebook photo set.

Keep an open mind – these are people who are just having fun being who, or what they are.
