Someday I might learn where one ends and the other begins. Until then, I’d like to share with you something that may have been a futile effort, yet I am glad that it exists. I’m a bit down, melancholy and very depressed at the moment so please forgive this little maudlin moment of mine.

This was from a simpler time – simpler but not simple as my life was chaotic, uncertain and a right old roller coaster.

I once new this guy… he travelled, smiled, laughed and thought about life. He was in many ways a saint, in many ways a devil.

He almost died in 2000 of a pair of massive heart attacks but he lived on to document what he saw. His life ended in 2008, yet through this little piece of persistence the better part of him lives on.

If you get a chance check out this little bit of nothing special.

The more that I learn about myself, the more that I realize I do not know. What a load of psycho babble that is.

In English, or better yet in simple terms, clarity is illusive. I do not see who I so how do I expect people to see who I am?

People hide behind layers of emotional silk that prevent me from seeing them clearly. Lovely that.

So I begin to wonder if I my view, my understanding, my perceptions and concepts are all based on erroneous assumptions born of a lack of clarity.

I form opinion based on the information at hand, empirical evidence based on what I see, hear, smell, touch and taste. I analyze and distill the available data but in the end have a very tenuous grasp on what is due the deliberate dilution of the facts.

I waffle.

I am the sum of man people – the sum of their actions, manner of dress, style of deportment and their personalities. I am the sum of their fears, strengths and expressed opinions.

I am the sum of that which I do not fully understand.

Lovely.

So how can I expect people to understand me – how can I possibly imagine that they will see who tightly I grasp the shreds of sanity that I have and then turn around and act out of that which is imagined rather than that which is real?

I don’t know. At least I recognize that I and others use emotional smoke screens, obscurity and a blatant refusal to be placed in a category as protective devices.

Anyhow.

My name is Charlotte Katherine Samantha Louise Elsie Bickford-Smythe Jones.

The subject of this instalment of dismotivational posters (okay, so what if they’re actually demotivational) is relationships. These two and the rest of the posters do not express my views on marriage, relationships or blonds who drive a Mazda Miata convertible.

Okay – who has not been a bit blasted, pleasantly pickled or falling down drunk at their wedding?

And this little gem – totally unacceptable, no?

Another 15 posters are viewable in a PhotoBucket Album.

Doggie and kitty paper fasteners.

Paper normally sticks together through the use of external device – usually glue or some kind of bent metal wire. Then some genius realized you can stick paper together with paper.

These staple-free-staplers cut a small flap and a notch in the paper, then it folds the flap back into the notch which keeps the paper stuck together! Pretty slick for a little plastic puppy!

Not only is it environmental, it’s safe – especially for little kid fingers. We’ve got these super cute staple-free staplers in adorable doggie and kitty styles in sickeningly-sweet pastel colours. Perfect for the geekling in your life, or the grown-up geek who’ve incorporated the word “SQUEE!” into their lexicon!

So, kids, next time you’ve got a report due for school, you can hand your assignment in on time while also saying, “The dog ate my homework.”

Pig Lights Whoever decided that man’s best friend should be a dog, obviously never met this pig. This dynamo flashlight in the shape of a quirky little pig is the perfect gadget to keep in your car, purse or home.

The pig flashlight doesn’t need batteries, simply squeeze the lever on the side and pump for 20 seconds to receive 8 minutes worth of light. The bright LED lights will never have to be replaced, which means you can always count on your piggy to light the way.

A friendly companion in emergencies and on camping trips. Available in green, blue or pink. Comes with handy wrist strap.

The Cat’s Ass Sharpener – There are no words that readily spring to mind to soften the blow. It’s a cat, you stick your pencil in its butt, it meows, and it sharpens your pencil. Your feline friend stands in his own litter tray that catches your pencil shavings. Of course not many people use pencils much these days, but this is perhaps the best reason there has ever been for going out and buying one right now.

Lil’ Pig BBQ

The Lil’ Pig is as functional as it is fashionable. Built to last a lifetime, this unit will surely be the talk of the party. If you intend to make a statement with your grill, then the Lil’Pig certainly can talk.

At last, a way to eat ice cream without all that annoying twisting!

Load the removable dish with ice cream, push the button and the ice cream turns while you enjoy one of the world’s most popular treats. That’s right. You no longer have to turn your cone around and around to eat the ice cream evenly and keep it from dripping.

No more licking around the edges of a drippy cone!

Fun for all ages. Removable dish is dishwasher safe.

Available in four colours.

I wish I made this stuff up – but:

What if you are abducted by aliens and left stranded somewhere else in this mystical galaxy. Will you be able to find your way home?

With the help of Earth bound Dog Tag you will be able to locate and communicate the location of Earth from any location in space.

Engraved with several methods of locating Earth in the Galaxy, an alien pilot does not need to understand any human language to use this information.

The mathematical location of Earth in relation to several important pulsars is represented by the radial diagram. Earth’s relation to the solar system is shown at the top. Also included is a schematic of Earth itself and it’s major land masses.

Two human icons (man and woman) are graphically connected to Earth at points in all three diagrams and are shown with their hands waving as a gesture of goodwill

From the Trenton Scottish Irish Festival – this was a blast as I managed to score a seat up close and personal to the bands, the bands were superb musically and they had a lot of stage presence.

The first video is the Smiths Falls Pipes and Drums – a smaller band but with a lot of spirit.

Next we have the Gordon Highlanders – wow… apparently loosing is not in their vocabulary and for good reason. Watch as two of the members of the band do a quick dance – I can vouch for the fact that it’s not only the men who have nothing under their kilts.
